Temporary closure of Brooker Avenue

Published on 06 September 2019

The all-abilities pedestrian and bicycle bridge spanning Brooker Avenue, between Bathurst Street and the Queens Domain, is close to completion.

An architectural canopy is scheduled to be installed later this month. To complete these works safely, the following road closures will be implemented from 7 pm on Friday 20 September until 6 am on Monday 23 September 2019 (weather permitting):

Brooker Avenue between Bathurst Street and Brisbane Street. Bathurst Street between Campbell Street and Brooker Avenue. The intersection of Edward Street and Brooker Avenue.

Access to the city centre will be available, however there will be a number of detours in place.

Delays of at least 15 minutes at peak travel times are expected during the closure period. Residents are asked to allow extra time for travel and follow the detour signs.

In the event of poor weather, 27 to 30 September and 4 to 7 October are backup dates for these works to occur.
