City of Swan Deputy Mayor Kevin Bailey has been recognised at the 2019 WA Local Government Convention for his long and loyal service as a Councillor.

An elected member at the City since 2005, Cr Bailey was recognised as part of the WA Local Government Association’s honours program.

City of Swan Mayor David Lucas said it was fitting that the Deputy Mayor had been recognised for his continued active contribution to the Pearce Ward and across the City.

“We are delighted that Cr Bailey has been recognised for his continued dedication in assisting the people of the City of Swan for the past 14 years,” he said.

“During his time as an elected member, Cr Bailey has represented Council on over 20 committees that have contributed to the wider local government sector.

“Cr Bailey also provides assistance with local events and initiatives and is a mentor for a number of community groups and organisations in order to build community capacity and longevity.

“We are very lucky to have such a loyal and passionate individual on our Council.”

Deputy Mayor Kevin Bailey said he was honoured to receive the award.

“I am passionate about continuing to grow the health, wellbeing and prosperity of our City,” he said.

“It’s a real privilege to represent our community and to play my part in making the City of Swan an amazing place to live.”

Councillor Bailey was one of 29 Local Government Elected Members and Chief Executive Officers who were recognised and received awards as part of the 2019 Convention.

Held by the WA Local Government Association, the annual Convention attracts almost 500 representatives from Local Government across the State.
