ROADS AFFECTED BY EVENTS - 24 & 25 AUGUST

Event season is here!

The weekend of 24 & 25 August sees the Festival of Cycling return to York for its third year. The York Rodeo is also taking place on Saturday 24 August and the Rodeo organisers will be placing visual message boards out directing Rodeo traffic to the Ulster Road / Barker Street entry for Rodeo competitor and visitor wayfinding to the event. Visitors will be coming in to town for the wildflowers and Canola coming into bloom as well as the start of the build of the new Wara Art sculptures for this year's York Festival.

Please take note of the roads affected as detailed on the route maps below and be aware of increased traffic over this weekend.

TOWN CRITERIUM inc LITTLE CRITTERS RACE Saturday 24 August  the following roads will be CLOSED to traffic from 11.30am – 6.00pm: - Avon Terrace - McCartney Street  - Lowe St - Christie Retreat - South street Roads will reopen as soon as event equipment is cleared. Please use caution and follow detour signage in place for this event.

KING AND QUEEN OF THE MOUNTAIN Saturday 24 August    

9.30 – 11.00am on the following roads: - Lowe St - Glebe St - Newcastle St - Herbert Rd - Pioneer Drive - Steere Rd Roads will remain open for this event with signage and road marshals in place to direct vehicles and cyclists. Please use caution and obey road signals whilst in the area.

GRADED ROAD RACE Sunday 25 August  8.30am – 3.00pm on the following roads: - Knotts Road - West Talbot Road - Talbot Road Roads will remain open for this event with signage and road marshals in place to direct vehicles and cyclists. Please use caution and obey road signals whilst in the area.
