One Night Only - Slam Poet Emily Crocker at Katoomba Library
Blue Mountains 16 Aug 2019

Emily also has various published works and has recently collaborated on a project, ‘Ok, Now Spit’, a pop-punk spoken word show with guitarist Jay Bailey.

The Slam Heats are where poetry meets performance. They are lively, packed with fun and are a platform for local poets to perform before a live audience. Performing poets are given a microphone, a live audience and just two minutes to capture the crowd with their own original work.

Sign-ups are from 6.30pm (the first 20 signups only will perform). The Blue Mountains winner will go onto the State finals and, if successful there, all the way to the Grand Final and great prizes that could launch a career in spoken word poetry.

Spectators can elect to assist with judging and are expected to offer enthusiastic audience participation. So, if you want to catch the show, then join Katoomba Library for a night of unpredictable fun.

The Blue Mountains Heat of the Australian Poetry Slam are at Katoomba Library on Thursday 22 August, at 7pm. Sign-ups are from 6.30pm. FREE - no bookings required.
