Locals are invited to be inspired and amazed by keynote speaker and panel members at the World Entrepreneurs Day event in Dalby on 21 August.

The event will showcase how innovation, leadership and technology can improve a business and encourage attendees to think about new strategies to expand their businesses.

It will also inspire those with business ideas to take the steps to get started.

Keynote speaker and founder of Healthy Habits Katherine Sampson will share her journey of turning a small business idea into a successful international franchise.

Katherine’s session will be followed by a Q&A panel featuring local business innovators Karen Penfold of Four Daughters, Pat O’Brien of DOM Distribution and Emma Bowdler of Bowdler Tax.

Western Downs Regional Council’s Spokesperson for Economic Development Councillor Donna Ashurst is looking forward to attending this inaugural event and seeing the benefits it will bring to local business owners.

“It’s great for members of our community to see how a small idea can grow into an internationally recognised organisation and how successful their businesses can become,” she said.

“It’s the perfect opportunity for business owners to learn from each other and build upon each other’s successes to create a better community.

“With local professionals featuring on the panel, the whole event is sure to be a hit with our region’s business owners.”

Bowdler Tax founder and event panellist Emma Bowdler is looking forward to sharing her knowledge with other local business professionals.

“Events like these are great ways to bring awareness to our communities and they really help promote the importance of small business to our region,” she said.

“They’re a fantastic way to let people know that they’re not alone and that there is support out there, and it shows them that they really can achieve amazing things from a small regional hub.

“It’s particularly important to me that women know that it is possible to have a family and run a successful business, and I’m hoping that this event will encourage other women to put themselves out there to achieve their business goals.”
