The Carter Street Precinct is a 52-hectare site located south-west of Sydney Olympic Park, and north of the M4 Motorway, in Lidcombe.

Over the next 20 years, this area will be transformed into a vibrant new community including 5,500 new homes, retail and business facilities, a primary school, a 1.8-hectare park and new links to Sydney Olympic Park.

The naming process

The naming process will be undertaken in stages. Council has worked with the NSW Geographical Names Board to develop a list of names for Stage 1 that meet specific criteria.

Proposed names draw on the area’s rich heritage including the long association the area has with the meat industry and the wildlife important to the local ecosystem.
