I had the pleasure of contributing to the tapestry that will form “Woven, a Snowy Monaro Story”, last Thursday. The lovely staff at the Cooma Library were on hand to take me through the weaving process.

Cooma Library is inviting the community of the Snowy Monaro to participate in a collaborative community arts project integrating fibre arts and text messages to create a woven public art piece. This is a joint project between The Men’s Shed - Cooma, Monaro Fabric Artists and Council’s Snowy Monaro Regional Library.

Throughout August and September, all community members are encouraged to weave a session of the tapestry, adding to the story of our region. Library staff will gladly help you to weave your story so no weaving experience is required.

Registration for this year’s Garage Sale Trail will open from next week! Now is the perfect time to begin the decluttering process and start making a pile of the items that you wish to rehome. Of significate interest was the update reports on the Regional Workforce Strategies for Local Government and the WaterNSW Customer Advisory Group Meeting, which included water security discussions and planning for all catchments as part of the regional drought update.
