Our fleet of new garbage trucks have hit the streets in a rainbow of bright and bold colours carrying important messages in support of White Ribbon and reducing single use plastics.

In an Australian first, the entire domestic waste fleet will have fully enclosed hoppers to reduce odour and litter.

Meet your new trucks

Safer – with improved safety features including low entry, high visibility for drivers, forward and rear facing cameras recording the truck’s operations and automatic braking system.

Cleaner – state of the art trucks with lower vehicle emissions and improved fuel efficiency, fully enclosed to prevent litter.

Smarter – fitted with technology delivering improved contract management and service delivery and allowing residents to monitor their service.

Did you know that up to 90 percent of the world’s sea birds have plastic in their guts?[i] This is just one of the eye opening stats our new garbage trucks carry in an effort to educate our community and visitors about reducing single use plastics.

Our black garbage trucks convey a strong message supporting White Ribbon Australia condemning domestic violence. Northern Beaches Council is a White Ribbon accredited workplace after participating in survey, training and events for 18 months.

The new trucks have rolled out with our new service, which began on 1 July. Your bin collection day may have changed- enter your address to find out your collection day.
