Volunteering is thriving in Lithgow, with an estimated 3,500 people dedicating their time to the community – from Meals on Wheels to the kid’s sports coach – many pitch in to keep our social fabric growing.

Volunteering is a form of civic participation that creates networks and strengthens communities. Volunteering enables activities to occur, places to remain open and opportunities for learning.  Volunteers give their own time and energy to invest in our community.

As a gesture of appreciation to our wonderful volunteers we will be hosting a morning tea on 19 June at 10:00am at the Lithgow Library.  Everyone is welcome. It will be a low-key affair providing an opportunity to chat and mingle with fellow volunteers;  or borrow a book and enjoy a cuppa and cake.  Just come on by,  no need to book or RSVP.
