Community Planting Day at Prospect LakeSaturday 1 June 2019

Come along to Prospect Lake on Saturday June 1 for a community planting day to help improve the native riparian vegetation and water quality at Prospect Lake. Conservation Volunteers Australia is hosting the event, which commences at 9am and will take place along the roadside at Prospect Lake. Registrations are not required to take part in the planting day, but participants are asked to wear protective clothing including covered sturdy shoes or boots, hat and gardening gloves. Don’t forget your drink bottle! Parking will be roadside at 92 Eyles drive near the walkway.  

Council has received an Environmental Trust Grant to undertake bush regeneration and supplementary plantings at Prospect Lake, Chickiba and on the banks of North Creek. This event complements other works already underway at Chickiba Creek. Conservation Volunteers Australia is working with Ballina Shire Council to improve riparian vegetation and water quality at these sites, and get the community involved. Come along and get your hands dirty!
