Gympie Regional Council in conjunction with Queensland Fire and Emergency Services are inviting community groups to attend the Disaster Preparedness Workshop.

The event will be held on Wednesday 1 May, 10.00am to 12.00pm at The Cooloola Cove Veterans Hall, 1 Santa Maria Court, Cooloola Cove.

This free interactive workshop will assist not for profit community and sporting groups prepare for disaster events.

There will be a variety of topics covered, including discussing different extreme weather events and their impacts, insurance coverage for community groups, how members can reduce risk, how to respond during a power outage and what to do if a facility is damaged during a disaster.

Workshop these issues and more so your organisation has a plan of action before, during and after a disaster.
