Mayo Candidates Forum in Goolwa

Alexandrina Council will be hosting a Mayo Candidates Forum at Centenary Hall, 12 Cadell Street, Goolwa on Tuesday, 7 May 2019 from 12 noon to 2pm.

The forum will be moderated by Leigh McClusky and is an opportunity for the community to hear from candidates on what they can bring to the electorate of Mayo and the Alexandrina community.

Our Elected Members have identified twelve issues of national significance with importance to the needs and interests of the Alexandrina community.  These issues are:

Ageing and aged care Arts, culture and heritage Carers and disability services Climate change and the ‘climate emergency’ Economic development and infrastructure funding Financial assistance grants for local government Key Alexandrina projects for Federal funding Murray Darling Basin advocacy Population growth Roads and road funding Women in our region Youth in our region.

At the Mayo Candidates Forum, each candidate will choose 3 topics from the above list to speak about in their 10 minute address. Following each candidate's address, there will be an audience Q&A session.

RSVP's are not required as the forum is open to public, however we recommend arrival when doors open at 11.30am, as seating is limited. We welcome your attendance.
