An overwhelming number of impressive nominations have been received for the 2019 Ballarat Heritage and Design Excellence Awards. 

This year has seen the highest ever number of entries for the Communicating, Promoting and Celebrating Heritage category, reflecting Ballarat’s vibrant storytelling community.  

Hosted by the City of Ballarat in partnership with the National Trust of Australia (Vic) Ballarat branch, the Award winners will be announced at a revamped invitation-only ceremony on Friday 24 May at The Hydrant, 3 McKenzie Street, Ballarat. 

An exceptionally strong selection of projects are in the running for this year’s Awards.  

The 2019 finalists are:  

Conservation of a heritage place or project 

Roswell Retreat, 422 Raglan Street – McNiece Building Group, Ryan Adamson Design, Rhino Landscaping  Former Reid's Coffee Palace Restoration, 128 Lydiard Street North – Warwick Smith, Uniting Ballarat and S.J. Weirs  ANA Hall Restoration, 22 Camp Street – Garry Goyne and Morton Dunn Architects  Trades Hall Façade Restoration, 24 Camp Street – Brett Edgington, Secretary, Ballarat Regional Trades and Labour Council Incorporated 

New designs in a heritage context
