Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) are inviting Muggles and Wizards of all ages to step into Wizard World at the Toowoomba City Library, Saturday 27 April where there will be a host of magical things to see and do.

TRC Library’s and Cultural Services Chair Cr Joe Ramia said the Wizarding World Family Fun Day is a special feature of the Toowoomba City Library’s holiday program.

“This is the second Wizarding World event held at the Toowoomba City Library and we are expecting a bumper crowd with more than 3,700 people attending the inaugural event in 2017, Cr Ramia said.

“The event, sponsored by TRC and the Friends of the Toowoomba City Library, demonstrates that the library is no longer just about books alone, it is a place to celebrate characters that come alive from the imagination and storytelling of amazing authors.”

TRC Events Chair Cr Geoff McDonald said sorcery, snakes, stunt shows and spell simulator stations would greet those looking for an enchanted experience at this year’s Wizarding World Family Fun Day.

“Only at Wizarding World can you watch an owl and reptile show, shop at the Eclectic Emporium’s Magical Markets, make a wand or try the Dark Arts spell simulator station.

“Don’t miss the Raptor Vision Owl Show in the Magical Markets. Watch these amazing ambassadors of their species doing extraordinary things as they educate the public on birds of prey conservation.

“We're beyond excited to announce that Lightscape Studio will be returning to Wizarding World with their fantastical backgrounds to get a magical greenscreen happy snap.

“Participants can gather a team together for the Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Test. This is the chance to prove your knowledge of the magical world of Harry Potter and compete for some great prizes.

“Otherwise you can get ready for the Wizarding World scavenger hunt! Download the Actionbound app on the day and follow the magical clues hidden around the City Library for a chance at an amazing reward.

“Julia Baker, star of Animal Planet’s highest rating TV series Snake Boss will be introducing the crowd to meet some of her favourite pet Reptiles and learn even more about these cool critters.

“There is something for all the family at this transmogrifying day of mystique, magic and enchantment.

“So, grab a broomstick and get down to the Wizard World Family Fun Day.”

The Wizard World Family Fun day will be held at Toowoomba Regional Library Saturday 27th April from 9.30am to 4.00pm.
