The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) is undertaking maintenance works on a section of the Goodwood Station underpass over the Easter weekend.

The temporary closure of passenger train and freight rail lines enables this essential maintenance work to be undertaken with minimal impact to rail customers.

To complete the works within this short timeframe, construction will occur as follows (see map below):

Site set-up in the Lyons Parade car park area between 8pm and 5pm, Wednesday 17 April until Friday 19 April. Construction works within the Lyons Parade car park area between 8am and 5pm Thursday 18 April and Friday 19 April. Continuous (24/7) works from 6am Saturday 20 April until approximately 6pm Monday 22 April on the western (swimming centre) side of Goodwood Station platform and adjacent shared use path. Minor works and removal of site compound between 8am and 5pm on Wednesday 24 April. For public safety reasons, the section of shared use path adjacent to the railway line, between Lyons Parade and Nairne Terrace / Richards Street will be closed from midnight Friday 19 April until 5pm Wednesday 24 April 2019. Signage will be in place to detour path users.   The pedestrian subway will also be closed from the last service on Friday 19 April and will reopen before first service on Tuesday 23 April. Please note that access to the platform at Goodwood station will not be available from the eastern side during this time.

Belair line services will continue to run during these works but will not be stopping at Goodwood railway station. Passengers that usually board or alight at Goodwood railway station will need to do so at Adelaide Showgrounds railway station. For Seaford line passengers, the Seaford line is partially closed during these works due to the Oaklands Crossing Grade Separation project. The substitute bus stops for Goodwood is located at Stop 5, Leader Street.

Every effort will be made to minimise disruption to residents however you may experience noise from machinery, vehicle movements and essential communication between workers and lighting towers will be in use to ensure works occur in a safe environment.
