MEDIA RELEASE 11 April 2019

A series of free Water Wise gardening workshops will run throughout May to help residents care for gardens while using limited water over winter.

The workshops will be presented by Horticulturist and Sustainability Educator Dhyan Blore at Rahamim Ecology Centre. Dhyan will provide demonstrations and information tailored to the needs of local gardens.

Mayor Graeme Hanger OAM said Council is keen to help residents maintain their gardens while at the same time using water wisely.

“There are many simple things gardeners can do to save water, avoid or reduce water excess charges and still maintain a healthy garden,” he said.

Workshop topics include - features of drought tolerant plants, the importance of mulch, choosing water saving irrigation systems, when to water and much more.

They will run for 1.5 hours and give residents plenty of opportunity to ask questions. For available dates, times and to book contact [email protected] or phone 6333 6100. The Rahamin Ecology Centre is located in Busby Street, South Bathurst.
