Five local surf lifesaving clubs will benefit from $500,000 worth of building repairs and improvement works on and around their clubhouses, courtesy of Northern Beaches Council.

Works will be undertaken at Collaroy, Narrabeen Beach, Queenscliff, South Narrabeen and Whale Beach Surf Life Saving Clubs.

Specific to each club’s needs, improvements will include installing closed-circuit television equipment, fixing up corroded structural steelwork, helping with the refurbishment of a hall, resurfacing and reconfiguring a car park, replacing roller doors and repainting one of the clubhouse buildings.

The five surf clubs have had the works on their ‘to do lists’ for some time, so when Council was recently able to identify some savings it chipped in the money to get the improvements done.

Surf lifesaving clubs play a major role in the Northern Beaches community, so it’s great we can work with them to upgrade facilities - both for club members and the broader public.
