News Commitment to seal Tom Price Karratha Road will provide welcome economic boost Mar 28 2019 The Shire is delighted to see that the Tom Price Karratha Road is a priority of the Federal Government. Shire President Kerry White said that sealing this road will remove the barriers that currently hinder the expansion of our regional tourism and economic sectors and provide a boost across a variety of sectors.   “The Tom Price Karratha road provides a critical connection between the coastal and inland Pilbara and to have this link easily accessible provides such a vast range of benefits,” said Cr White.  “We look forward to this highly anticipated project, which has significant economic and social benefits for Tom Price and the Shire as a whole, finally progressing towards completion.” The funding allocation was announced by Prime Minister Scott Morrison today as part of a $1.6 billion infrastructure package for Western Australia in the forthcoming budget. The Shire understands that should Parliament pass the budget prior to an election, these allocations will become a firm financial commitment. More news articles
