Keeping Albany ship-shape
City of Albany 20 Feb 2019

Albany is a beautiful place to live, work, and visit and the City of Albany needs your help to keep it that way.

Community members are being encouraged to expand their energy beyond Clean Up Australia Day by Adopting a Spot.

Held on Sunday, March 3, Clean Up Australia Day inspires thousands of Australians to clean up, fix and conserve our environment.

Waste Sustainability Officer Julie Passmore said that getting involved in Clean Up Australia Day is an excellent opportunity for the community to take responsibility and help keep our environment free of rubbish now and in the future.

“This year, we’re encouraging everyone to be a Sustainable Hero and join friends, family, colleagues and neighbours to Adopt-a-Spot for Clean Up Australia Day and beyond,” said Ms Passmore

“The Clean Up motto this year is ‘change starts with you’, because we can all make a difference. We can all play a part in caring for the environment, starting with our street, local park, creek, lake, wetland, beach or bush trail.”

Community groups and individuals who register through the City of Albany will receive bags for their clean up, as well as have their bags of litter and recyclables collected after the event.
