Council, through the Environment Levy, is offering grants to registered Wildlife Carers in the Region. Our native wildlife are subject to various stresses, including vehicle strikes; interaction with domestic pets; and reduction in habitat (to name a few), local carers provide an essential service in the rescue, rehabilitation and release of our endemic species.

Council has allocated $50,000 of Environment Levy revenue for projects undertaken by carers within the Region. In order to be eligible for a grant, they must:

Have a wildlife rehabilitation permit number, Give detail about their facilities and operation, Let Council know what the grant will be used for, Reside within the Region.
