Kerbside Waste Collection

Weekly waste collection will commence on 17 December 2018 for a six week period

Weekly collections of general waste bins in the Alexandrina Council district will commence from Monday 17 December 2018 with the last weekly collection on Friday, 25 January 2019.

All waste collections will occur on the usual collection days for Alexandrina Council – Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays, as per the 2018-2019 Kerbside Collection Calendar.

Public Holidays – all collections will occur on the day scheduled, with the following exceptions:

Christmas Day – Tuesday, 25 December 2018 – no kerbside collection on Christmas Day with all collections in this week occurring one day later. Kerbside collections in Alexandrina Council will be affected with Wednesday collection to occur on Thursday, Thursday collection on Friday and Friday collection on Saturday) New Year’s Day – Tuesday, 1 January 2019 – no kerbside collection on New Year’s Day with all collections in this week occurring one day later. Kerbside collections in Alexandrina Council will be affected with Wednesday collection to occur on Thursday, Thursday collection on Friday and Friday collection on Saturday).

Recycling and green organics collection (where applicable) will continue fortnightly throughout this period.

Residents are encouraged to check their 2018-2019 Kerbside Waste Collection Calendar for the collection schedule.

Kerbside collections for all three waste streams will revert to fortnightly from Monday 28 January 2019 in the Alexandrina Council district.

Check the FRWA website to confirm opening hours for the Goolwa and Strathalbyn Waste and Recycling Depots. Both depots are closed on all gazetted public holidays. Visit www.frwa.com.au

Exceptional Circumstances Bin Collection

We wish to advise all Exceptional Circumstances and General Waste bins will be collected in the week prior to Christmas on your normal collection day, please place all out for collection:

Wednesday 19 December, or Thursday 20 December, or Friday 21 December.

Update: There will be no collection of your Exceptional Circumstances (red lid) bin from Monday 24 December 2018 to Friday 25 January 2019. Weekly pickup of your general waste (blue lid) bin only will replace this service during this time, inclusive of the Australia Day Public Holiday.

Collection of recycling (yellow lid) and green organics (green lid - where green organics collections are applicable) will remain fortnightly throughout this period.

Fortnightly kerbside collections of Exceptional Circumstances (red lid) and general waste (blue lid) bins will recommence from week commencing Monday 28 January 2019.
