National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) information for Barunga West

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a fundamental reform to the delivery of disability care that will change the lives of people with disability. The Scheme’s model of customer-directed purchasing of care supports (built in combination as a package) funded through the NDIS is being progressively implemented in South Australia. The assist local workforce, the Government of South Australia has committed resources over the next two years (July 2017 to July 2019) for project activities to support the State’s workforce capacity to meet expected demand from the Scheme for both delivering services and jobs. NHVR – What is the NHVR?

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) is Australia’s independent regulator for all vehicles over 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass and administers one set of laws for heavy vehicles under the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), delivering a comprehensive range of services under a consistent regulatory framework. The national law commenced on 10 February 2014 and applies in the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria. As the national regulator for the heavy vehicle road transport industry, they aim to achieve: •Efficiency – a common set of laws for heavy vehicles for all states and territories. •Safety – a national safety monitoring and reporting system dedicated to heavy vehicles. •Productivity – ability to provide quick responses to changing industry trends and needs. •Services – a single point of contact for all heavy vehicle regulation in Australia. •Independence – independent, statutory body corporate established under the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL). •Compliance and enforcement – a unified strategy and approach. •Transparency and accountability – review for key decision making.
