Huon Valley Arts and Cultural Strategy 2018 – 2022

Arts and Culture are intrinsically valued by residents and visitors to the Huon Valley and Council recognises the impact of arts and culture on our economy, health and wellbeing and broader society.

In 2018 Council commissioned Kylie Eastley Consultancy and PDF Consultants to undertake a review of the Huon Valley Arts and Heritage Strategy and Action Plan (2012 – 2017) and to consult with the Huon Valley Council, community and stakeholders to produce a new Arts and Heritage Strategy.

This Draft Huon Valley Arts and Culture Strategy 2018 -2022 has been developed following consultation with members of the Huon Valley Arts and Heritage Advisory Committee, Huon Valley Council Commissioner and staff and the wider community. Face to face meetings were conducted with key interest groups, cultural leaders and arts and heritage representatives between March and May 2018.

The revised Strategy presents a key vision for the Huon Valley to be “A vibrant community in which art and culture is an expression of place, story and people that is unique to the Huon Valley”
