School Holiday Activities open for bookings 2 July

Inner West Council has an extensive school holiday activity program for children aged 12-18 years.

Registrations open Monday, 2 July for all events and are essential via www.innerwest.nsw.gov.au/shp or phone 9335 2158 for more information.

Monday, 9 July – Mystery Movie Ages: 12-18 years Cost: FreeTime: 1–4pm Venue: Meet at Hoyts Cinemas, Broadway Shopping Centre, 1pm Attend a mystery movie at Hoyts Cinemas, Broadway (rating TBC) – all to bring lunch or money to buy lunch with times subject to change (depending on session).

Tuesday, 10 July – Indigenous Arts and Lunch Ages: 12-18 years Cost: Free Time: 10am–4pm Venue: Meet at Leichhardt Town Hall to catch the Council bus, 10am In celebration of NAIDOC Week, visit the Family Fun Day at Steel Park, Marrickville and an Indigenous arts session at Marrickville Youth Resource Centre, followed by a fully catered Indigenous lunch created by the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence.

Wednesday, 11 July – Real Bodies Exhibition Ages: 12-18 years Cost: $10 Time: 10:30am–2pm Venue: Meet at Leichhardt Town Hall to catch the Council bus, 10:30am ‘Real Bodies The Exhibition’ at Moore Park presents the artful display of 20 real, perfectly preserved human bodies and over 200 anatomical specimens. Bring lunch or money to buy lunch.

Thursday, 12 July – Film Making Workshop Ages: 12-18 years Cost: Free Time: 10am–4pm Venue: Leichhardt Town Hall – 107 Norton Street, Leichhardt Learn the process of making a short film using Green Screen Technology in the format of a film trailer, TV commercial or breaking news story with lunch provided.

Friday, 13 July – Bondi Winter Ice Skating – After Dark Ages: 12-18 years Cost: $15 Time: 6pm–11pm Venue: Meet at Leichhardt Town Hall to catch the Council bus, 6pm Experience the delight of ice-skating on the edge of Bondi Beach with all to bring money for dinner on the Bondi Beach retail boulevard.

Monday, 16 July – Pamper Day and High Tea Ages: 12-18 years Cost: Free Time: 10am–2pm Venue: Leichhardt Town Hall – 107 Norton Street, Leichhardt This workshop will teach practical life skills, beauty tips and a deep sense of self and value and includes a fully catered high tea.

Tuesday, 17 July – Photography Workshop Ages: 12-18 years Cost: Free Time: 10am–2pm Venue: Leichhardt Town Hall – 107 Norton Street, Leichhardt An exciting introduction to the world of digital photography where an expert photographer shows the ins and outs of modern photography with lunch provided and all to bring a smart phone or compact camera.

Wednesday, 18 July – Bushcare and Café Bones lunch Ages: 12-18 years Cost: Free Time: 10am–2pm Venue: Meet at Leichhardt Town Hall to catch the Council bus, 10am Help reinvigorate and revitalise Leichhardt’s local parklands in this educational experience that includes a set menu lunch at Café Bones with all to wear comfortable clothing.

Thursday, 19 July – Sleeping Beauty – State Theatre Ages: 12-18 yearsCost: $30 Time: 10am–2pm Venue: Meet at Leichhardt Town Hall to catch the Council bus, 10am Sleeping Beauty - A Knight Avenger’s Tale - showing at Sydney’s majestic State Theatre with all to bring lunch or money to buy lunch.

Friday, 20 July – Ghost Tour – After Dark Ages: 12-18 yearsCost: $25Time: 4:30pm–10pm Venue: Meet at Leichhardt Town Hall to catch the Council bus, 4:30pm Sydney's Quarantine Station on North Head is one of Australia's most haunted sites so join us for a spooky tour you’ll never forget with all to bring money for dinner.
