A large crowd of local people packed into the Civic Hall on Thursday evening for the Council-led Public Forum about recent anti-social behaviour. Mayor Steve Edgington chaired the meeting with an update from Senior Sergeant Don Eaton of the Northern Territory Police and information from Martin Plumb, Regional Director, Barkly, Department of the Chief Minister. The public were then invited to speak with several suggestions made to the 200-strong crowd regarding keeping children safe and off the streets, alcohol restrictions and preventing further anti-social behaviour. Information from the Public Forum will be compiled over the next few weeks, put to the ordinary Council meeting on 22 March and then uploaded on to the Council website.
